San Ignacio is a town in the Cayo District of Belize. It is located in the western part of the country, about 80 miles west of Belize City. The town is situated on the Macal River, and is the largest settlement in the area. San Ignacio has a population of about 15,000 people, and is known for its agriculture, as well as its many natural attractions, including the nearby Mayan ruins.
