Modesto is a city in Stanislaus County, California, United States. Located in the Central Valley, it is a hub of economic activity in the region. The city is located along State Route 99, just north of the San Joaquin River. The Modesto Municipal Airport (MOD) is located two miles (3 km) southeast of the city and serves as a major transportation hub for the Central Valley.
