Rota is a city in Andalusia, Spain located on the south coast of the Cadiz province. It is a fishing port and tourist destination, and is home to the U.S. Navy’s Naval Station Rota. The city is known for its old town, beautiful beaches, and its lively nightlife. It has a population of about 23,000 and is about 65 kilometers from the capital city of Cadiz. The city is known for its cultural and historical heritage, with its narrow streets and old buildings, as well as its many churches and monuments. Rota is also home to the Naval Station Rota, a major U.S. and Spanish joint base. The base is a vital part of the U.S. Navy’s presence in the Mediterranean, and is used for training, research, and operations.
